DIY WALL CLOCK
Today I opened my package to discover that my wall clock diy kit arrived!
I was so excited, with the help of my brother I assembled everything in half an hour!
I was so proud, and so happy.
It’s so happy sitting pretty on my wall.
And the tick tick tick just calms me down.
I love a midweek surprise and dose of happiness. We all need some to get us by.
DIY STUDDED CLOGS
I got extremely bored with my clogs because I kept seeing them on the street.
So what better way to differentiate them than to stud them!
This was really really quick, I actually did it on the spur of the moment before I left the house. I wanted to wear my clogs but I spied my spikes sitting near them.
They were calling out to me.
I did it in about 15-20 minutes, and ended up being half an hour late for class.
But it was worth it. Hee.
So all you need are
- your shoes, preferably something with a thinner fabric, those plastic rubber melissa-esque shoes are a no go.
- spikes
- something to make a hole with, I used a tiny screwdriver
Decide on the arrangement of your spikes and then start poking holes with your sharp item. Unscrew the bottom part of your spike, insert into the hole [ this takes quite a bit of effort, especially if your hole is tiny ] then screw your spike on! REPEAT.
AND YOU NOW HAVE SHOES THAT LOOK BRAND NEW! more or less.
Now go out and flaunt it. Just be careful not to hurt anyone. Or maybe you do. I could think of someone right now that I’d love to give a kick with those on.
Frayed Hole Tutorial.
Works best on thin, slightly sheer low quality cotton fabric. I used an old Tee that i bought from a Cotton On Sale.
It’s super duper easy as can be seen by the photos above. It’s basically three main steps, stretch, poke and pull. And you’re done!
Use any sharp object to poke the stretched fabric. I used a 0.38 pen that was within reach and then use your fingers and some help from your fingernails to gently pull the frays out, keep doing it until you get a wispy spider web ;)
I actually did this during class because I was too bored. So that’s how fast and easy it is.
Make sure you vary the sizes of the rips/holes and make arrange it in a disorganized manner. DO NOT ever form a straight row. It will look well, weird.
I would suggest making one big hole and then putting various smaller ones around it.
Or you could even create one mega rip at the back of your tee and show off your sexy back. Now, that would be awesome ;)
Enjoy.
DIY CHESIRE CAT NAILS
I did this for my birthday party two weeks back.
And it is INCREDIBLY EASY.
Basically, paint one coat onto your nails ( if you’re extremely lazy like me, paint half but ensure that your second layer is of a darker colour, if not the half layer will show and that is extremely ugly, hence it’s still best to paint the FULL NAIL, laziness DOES NOT PAY ): )
WAIT PATIENTLY FOR NAILS TO COMPLETELY DRY. ( I actually continued with the second part the next day)
Next, tape your nails such that 1/3 or whatever desired length of colour you want is protected by the tape.
Paint the rest of your nails.
Wait for it to dry somewhat. I put my fingers in front of the fan for a few minutes and couldn’t resist any longer.
TAKE OFF THE TAPE AND BE PREPARED TO GUSH AT THE AMAZING NEATNESS OF IT. be careful while doing it so you don’t smudge the polish.
WAIT FOR IT TO DRY SOMEMORE, i would suggest lying in your sofa with the television on. and NOT use your lappy, phone or whatever that requires HANDS.
TAPE, POLISH, REPEAT.
FINISH WITH TOP COAT AND VOILAAAA!
you can use ANY COLOURS and even do TWO layers so you don’t have to wait so long. I would suggest contrasting colours. I used quite dark subdued colours because I wanted to represent the dark purple Chesire Cat from Tim Burton’s version of Alice in Wonderland.
ENJOYY (:
My first batch of HOMEMADE STRAWBERRY JAM.
It was relatively simple, from a recipe I googled off and nonchalantly omitted igredients which had alien sounding names (namely pectin). Ofcourse I googled first to see if they were important ( pectin is used to preserve the jam, hence I happily struck it off my list since greedy me would eat it in one single go).
Everyone would be happy to know that it went crazily well and even exceeded my expectations! I do not really fancy jam, but this was good stuff. Heehee.
So basically my ingredients were:
- Strawberries
- Sugar
- Lemon
Isnt that just fantastic? So easy and yet healthy. Okay the tiny mountains of sugar I added doesnt really comply with the word healthy but at least you know what goes into that delicious chunky syrup concoction that makes your toast taste like you’re in jam heaven.
I also added spoonfuls of it into a glass of ice cold soda and it was the best drink to refresh me on a hot afternoon.
ENJOY.
